I feel like I have a brain that is burning. The constant barrage of thoughts, images, and memories that we constantly bombard our brains with makes it feel like it’s on fire. I know it’s a metaphor, but it sounds so much like what it is like to have a brain on fire.
A brain on fire is a bad thing. The brain is like a factory that produces thoughts, memories, and images. If we’re constantly bombarded with all these stimuli, then it’s best to cut off any excess stimuli, keep it in a safe place, and keep our brains from burning. To address this, we can set up a process called “battery de-stocking.
The technique is best known from the work of the neuroscientist Dr. Barry Schwartz, who in his book, The Power of Visual Cortex, describes how his brain can de-stoc…
What we do here at BrainStorm is run a battery de-stocking test. We ask people to think about a thought they’ve had recently (or have a hard time remembering what it was), and then we have them look at a photo of a brain and describe it.
After a while, a couple of hours or even a few days, these memories start to come back, and our brain can then turn back into a normal brain, which is why we do such a good job at remembering what we do.
A lot of people will disagree with our conclusion about how the brain is de-stocked after we’ve given it a brain scan. They will counter that we’re overstating the amount of power in their brain because, well, they’re old. They’re no longer young, and therefore are even less de-stocked than the young.
Well, its true that some people’s brains are slightly less powerful than others, but the general idea that our brains can’t keep up with the demands of memory is pretty well known. But, again, the idea that our brains are de-stocked is well-established science. A brain scan is only a snapshot of our brains, so the more we can get from it, the better it will be.
So what you need to know first is that the more we do from a brain scan, the better it is. The more you can get from it, the better the brain scan will be.

it is true that our brains are made up of tiny cells (neurons) which are constantly being replaced. If you’re keeping your mind occupied, you’re probably doing an optimal job of keeping your brain in mind. The brain scan is just a snapshot of our brains, so you can make the most out of it by taking it in small enough doses. You should make sure to take it with plenty of water.
