The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.

The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

You can’t really make a point without acknowledging that we’re in control of our habits, routines, impulses and reactions all the time. We do things every day that we know for sure will help us get through the day. If we don’t make a habit of it, it will slip our minds. It is this sort of thing that drives us to drink, eat, and drive to the mall.
I don’t think we have been in control of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions for a long time. I think it is because we are so busy with the world around us, and just assume we are always in control. The world we see around us is just a reflection of our environment. It is because we are so busy with the world that we don’t even see the little things we do every day.
In the past, we have always had a huge tendency to assume that we are always in control of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. Even if we were on autopilot, we would probably just remember that we were on autopilot. But this is slowly changing. We are starting to realize that we probably do not control our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, but we can control our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions.
For example, I know that I frequently forget to take my shoes off at the gym, but I can usually change my mind. And if I don’t take my shoes off, I’m doing something else that I can control and it will show up on my Fitbit. There are also times when I’ll do something that I just can’t forget, and I can’t control it. I will always be surprised and startled that I forgot something.
I guess the point for me is that we, as adults, have to accept that we dont always control the things we do. For example, if I want to be on a flight and I forget to get my seat belt on, I can probably control it, but I can never control every part of every plane.
I’m not saying this to make you feel bad, but it’s for the sake of self-awareness. We’re all guilty of forgetting to get the seat belt buckle on, so it would be nice if we could remember to do it. This is the same with our habits. If I’m watching TV and I forget to drink water, I can control that, but I can never control all of the things that go into how my body functions.
