I have to admit, I have an aversion to the brussel sprouts. Just the thought of them makes my stomach lurch. I’ve eaten them once, but that was when I had a friend over for lunch. I just couldn’t bring myself to eat them again.
The reason is that they contain a toxic protein called a “prolamin.” A certain type of prolamin is found in the stomach lining of many animals, including humans, and is responsible for making us fart. Brussel sprouts don’t contain this protein, which is why I can eat them again.
The reason I can eat them again is because the prolamin in them is the same as the prolamin in your own stomach lining, causing the same effects. I mean, it’s not like I can eat them and not feel like I’ve got this weird stomach bug. In fact, I eat them every day.
This is good news, because, unless you have a thing for crunchy new-fangled nutrients, you can eat them almost anywhere. A few weeks ago, I ate them on a plane. They were on the side of the tray where the food was placed, and I ate them with my meal and kept eating them until I was finished. I also have to say, that when I was finished eating them, we only had a few bites left, and it tasted really good.
Well, except that they didn’t have a lot of calories, and some were dry and others were just plain too salty. But they were delicious. And if you’re into that sort of thing, it doesn’t get any better than that.
I read a review online of a brussel sprout dish that was said to have the best flavor, and I have to say, I agree with that reviewer. The flavor is bold, and the texture is very crispy. I don’t know what the original recipe was, but the dish I made was very similar to the one the reviewer had.
I have to admit, when I first began making this dish, I was a little hesitant. I thought it might taste like chicken, so I didnt put too much of the brussel sprouts in it. But it was delicious and so good that I forgot to take pictures of the dish. But then, I did take a picture of the dish that was sitting in the fridge, and I thought it was amazing.
Yes, I’m not the only one who thought it was wonderful. One reviewer who had her stomach pumped while making this dish said it was the best thing she had eaten in months. I have to agree. It’s pretty much the only thing that’s ever made me poop.
The Brussels sprouts in this recipe are a favorite of ours. They are in a dish called “Brussels Sprout Sauce” that really is quite good. The sauce has a subtle, spicy, sour flavor that really compliments the sprouts. It is also easy to make; just throw in a bunch of sprouts and you’ll have an awesome little party dish.
